Re: Anything Homemade Swap
I'm hoping to be done with mine by the end of this weekend. How's everyone else doing? I have seen part of what Joe is making for Rohn. He does wonderful work, of course I might be a bit biased.
Re: Anything Homemade Swap
I've been a bit side tracked lately but I'm hoping to get finished up by the weekend too. I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week already.

Re: Anything Homemade Swap
I know I didn't get in this, but I'm wondering since you set a date they all have to be shipped by, why don't you set a date for everyone to open their gifts? That way everyone will open them on the same day. Just a thought.

Re: Anything Homemade Swap
Carla, usually they will recieve them on the same date, but I agree, they need to open them on the same day. Hopefully you'll be able to participate next year. I've done these on another site a few times and on here once. They're a lot of fun, and it's neat to see what others make. Last year I got some jewlery made from paper beads. I liked them so much I did a google search to learn how to make them. I got the tools needed to do them, but haven't tried yet. I'm hoping to make some next year though.
Re: Anything Homemade Swap
OK, I got mountainmama's main gift completed today. I'm really pleased with the  way it turned out. Now to get started on the other thing I want to make for her. I'm getting so excited.

Re: Anything Homemade Swap
Patrice, I am too. I love making things for people, and I enjoy recieving what others have made.
Re: Anything Homemade Swap
I gotta get busy!! many hours of work left to do to complete Joe's gift...
Re: Anything Homemade Swap
W/everything that's been happening, I'm so behind. But, next week will see me able to spend more time in the evenings doing things. I have 2 little things I'll be making, they won't take much time at all. But once I get started on the big thing, it shouldn't take too much time. (I hope)

Re: Anything Homemade Swap
Ok everyone. The exchange date is getting close. The 10th will be here before you know it. It's time to make sure you exchange snail mail addresses so your packages can be shipped in time. The idea way to do this is for you and your partner to ship on the same day, and wait to open the packages until you're sure your partner has recieved his/hers. Also, once you get yours, please post pictures, along with a short post explaining what you got. That's part of the fun. Joe's outside in his shop finishing up Rohn's gift. I'm putting together the last few parts of the ones I'm giving. How's everyone else doing?
Re: Anything Homemade Swap
I'm finishing mine up too! I can't wait to get my package into the mail.

Re: Anything Homemade Swap
W/everything that we had going on, I'm way behind on it. Plus, I had trouble finding something I needed. However, I'm now working on it in the mornings and evenings when I have time. It's going to be close for me as well, but I should be able to get it done.

Re: Anything Homemade Swap
If you haven't already exchanged addresses with your swap partner, you need to get it done. We're only 2 days till we should be mailing our packages.
Re: Anything Homemade Swap
yeah, got a big problem there, I'm back on 16 hour shifts through Wednesday (the 11th) so it'll be the 12th before I can get mine shipped.
Re: Anything Homemade Swap
Command decision...instead of a late delivery, and since this is supposed to look homemade I have foregone some of the final finishing I would normally do. I plan to ship via USPS on 12-9-13.
Re: Anything Homemade Swap
I wasn't sure how much of the one part I was going to need to make this and have run out. And because of the weather, I wasn't able to get what I needed. Instead of the less than 1 inch of snow they were calling for, we got around 8"! Hubby was going to get what I needed yesterday on his way home from Philly, but didn't want to stop. I'll try and get more of it today, but it won't be done until a bit later in the week now.
I had quite a bit of time yesterday when I could have gotten the majority of it finished. I still have a few more hours left to work on it. I'll try and finish it on Tuesday and ship it out on Wednesday.

I plan to ship Patrice's gift the 10th or 11th. I still have a little more to do on her gift.

Re: Anything Homemade Swap
Joe and I will be shipping tomorrow, since we have 3 different shipments to make. Those that aren't ready to ship tomorrow, don't worry about it. Just make sure your swap partner knows. Looking forward to seeing what everyone gets.

That's a big load off of my mind.

Re: Anything Homemade Swap
Got what I needed last evening to finish. Just didn't have time to work on it-it was too late by the time we got home, ate and did dishes.
