Re: lambs and ewes
We have two more lambs! Molly gave birth to two little boys. One is not walking quite right on his right front foot he is walking on the ankle. I think he was injured in the birth process. D1 (ex-vet tech) splinted his foot to help the tendons strengthen. Other than that they are both doing great.

Re: lambs and ewes
I can't get over how much bigger Skipper has gotten already. The two new little ones seem very shy compared to him.

Re: lambs and ewes
Lambs grow incredibly fast. It is a good comparison seeing the three of them together. It is hard to believe that 9 days ago Skipper was as wobbly and small as the other two now are, but he was.
BTW I think the grey faced one is Bruce and the other one is going to be called Bailey.

It's cool to have the videos for comparison. Bruce, Bailey and Skipper very nice

Re: lambs and ewes
D1 and I band castrated the two little white lambs this afternoon. The black lamb, Skipper, I am planning on selling as a ram lamb later this summer. The procedure went very smoothly with D1 helping. It was a lot harder when hubby tried to help last year.
Re: lambs and ewes
I hate having hubby "helping" w/some things. He tries to take over.

Glad you got that task completed with relative ease.

Re: lambs and ewes
My hubby is just not much of a farmer. He was nervous about me doing the procedure, uncomfortable trying to hold the lambs and just kept trying to rush me with the job, which ended up making it go slower.
Re: lambs and ewes
That's definitely NOT the type of help you need.

Re: lambs and ewes
The sheep area all doing well. I took a short video this morning of the sheep. The lambs are two weeks (white ones) and three weeks (black one) old and they are already growing like crazy and starting to really graze in earnest as well.
Yesterday, I went out to do chores without the camera. Skipper (the black one) was chasing chickens with a skip and a pop and the lambs all had wild play and races for 15 minutes. It was a hoot.
Of course today I took out the camera and they were all hungry and tired. Go figure.
Here is another short video that I shot the other day. The lambs at play are too fun to watch.
Please subscribe to my channel if you haven't already and you will be informed if I upload any new videos in the future.

They are so cute, I bet the Kid loves to play with them.

Re: lambs and ewes
Thanks for the subscription Rohn! I am going to try and document their progress. I think it will be good for anyone interested in trying to raise sheep for the first time.
