Re: lambs and ewes
It is that time of year again... lambing time!
This year I am watching my two ewes, Dot and Molly who are both about to pop. Dot is the one that I had that lambed last year. So she is the experienced one and a two year old. Molly is a first timer. She is only a yearling, but she is a big healthy girl so I don't anticipate any trouble, of course you never know when it comes to a birth.
Here are some pictures of the girls yesterday. Dot is the one with ... you guessed it ... a dot on her neck. She is on the left in the first picture.
Sunday afternoon my friend Judy picked up the ram. He is going to spend the summer at her place eating weeds in her pasture. Yesterday the Kid and I stripped the stall and got it ready for our new comers. Now it is just watch and wait.

Aww, you're about to have sweet little babies running around. I can't wait to see pictures.

Re: lambs and ewes
God willing if everything goes well.
I have them in the short lot starting today. They are laying around sprawled out and looking tired. I remember that feeling in late pregnancy.

LOL Rohn, ask your wife she will likely agree with us as she probably remembers those days from her pregnancies. You just get to a point of thinking/saying "get this kid out of me already, I can't take it any more".

That's how I felt w/DD. She was a kicker! Plus, w/the way she was sitting, I couldn't stand up straight. I was so glad when she was finally born. DS, wasn't as bad.

Re: lambs and ewes
Dot had here babies in the night. Unfortunately we only have one survivor. The living baby is doing great. The other one did not make it out of the bag. From the way Dot looks she might have had a hard time with that one as well because she is pretty bloody around the back end this time. I checked on her at 9:30 and this morning by 5:30 she had had them. Both were black.
Focusing on the positive ... This new little one hereby dubbed "Skipper", since he is a leap year baby, is a lot like his father.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear you lost one of them. I sure hope Skipper grows up big, strong and healthy.

Yep, it worked and he's a little cutie. I love his little white socks and the tip of his tail.

Re: lambs and ewes
I could not find the place to give you a thumbs up, maybe my phone doesn't allow me to do that.

Re: lambs and ewes
I LOVE my phone but I've got to start using my laptop more before I completely kill the battery on my phone. I use 1/2 of my battery life a day on Johnny Cash videos at the nursing home to entertain my DH before lunch gets served.
