What is your favorite corn? Empty What is your favorite corn?

We have always planted golden queen, but I was thinking of trying something diffrent this year. So I was wondering what is your favorite corn? And what makes it better than the rest?

God bless,
Chad

A couple links to compare golden queen with country gentleman and golden bantam.

I like the looks of Stowell's Evergreen from seedsaver.org. Have any of you tried it? Does it freeze well?how about pickling?

12acre, I like the sound of the shoepeg. I have had it from the store in cans, and like it fine.

Maybe I should just pick one and run with it.?.

The most important thing when growing corn in the garden (IMO) is to grow what you like, and grow something that you can save seeds from. With careful experimentation, and documentation, you could even develop your own Hybrid that could come true to type after three or four seasons of careful "rogueing" or thinning out the undesirable plant types.
