Health benefits of cinnamon and honey
The combination of honey and cinnamon has been used in both oriental and Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices known to mankind and honey's popularity has continued throughout history. The two ingredients with unique healing abilities have a long history as a home remedy. Cinnamon's essential oils and honey's enzyme that produces hydrogen peroxide qualify the two anti-microbial foods with the ability to help stop the growth of bacteria as well as fungi. Both are used not just as a beverage flavoring and medicine, but also as an embalming agent and are used as alternatives to traditional food preservatives due to their effective antimicrobial properties. People have claimed that the mixture is a natural cure for many diseases and a formula for many health benefits:
1) HEART DISEASES: Apply honey and cinnamon powder on bread instead of using jam or butter and eat it regularly for breakfast.
2) ARTHRITIS: Apply a paste made of the two ingredients on the affected part of the body and massage slowly.
3) HAIR LOSS: Apply a paste of hot olive oil, a tablespoon of honey, a teaspoon of cinnamon powder before bath, leave it for 15 min and wash.
4) BLADDER INFECTIONS: Mix cinnamon powder and honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink.
5) TOOTHACHE: Apply a paste of cinnamon powder and honey and on the aching tooth.
6) CHOLESTEROL: Add honey to cinnamon powder mixed in boiled water or green tea and drink.
7) COLDS: Make a glass of lukewarm honey water mixed with cinnamon powder to help boost your immune system during the cold season. It may also help to clear your sinuses.
INDIGESTION: Cinnamon powder sprinkled on a spoonful of honey taken before food relieves acidity.
9) LONGEVITY: Regularly take tea made with honey and a little cinnamon powder.
10) PIMPLES: Mix honey with cinnamon powder and apply paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash away the next morning.
11) OBESITY: To reduce weight, daily drink a mixture of a teaspoon of honey with half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder boiled in water with an empty stomach in the morning about half an hour before breakfast. Read: Cinnamon and Honey Recipe

Re: Health benefits of cinnamon and honey
There is a man 107 who always has cinnamon in his tea. Because of him, I researched it and started putting cinnamon in my morning tea.
I also wash my face with a bit of honey.

People often overlook natural elements that God has given us to keep us healthy.
Re: Health benefits of cinnamon and honey
I knew about honey, cinnamon has always just been a flavoring to me, until now that is.
Re: Health benefits of cinnamon and honey

Re: Health benefits of cinnamon and honey
Those of you that give this a try, please come back and let us know how it worked for you.
Re: Health benefits of cinnamon and honey
how 'bout this I use cinnamon and honey to take the edge off of green tea, I have no aches no pains, I never take a flu shot and never get the flu, worst problem I've had since starting to use this on any kind of regular basis has been a sinus headache
Re: Health benefits of cinnamon and honey
Do you get your honey locally? I don't know why cinnamon and honey would cause a sinus headache. I'm like you when it comes to the flu shot. I had my fill of them when I was in the Air Force. I decided I'd never get them again once I got out and I haven't. Unfortunately, Joe still has a couple of years to go in the Air Force, so he still has to get them, and gets sick every year. Ty and I very seldom get the flu and if we do it doesn't last long.
Re: Health benefits of cinnamon and honey
I do not think the cinnamon and honey are the cause, just something they had no effect on or in preventing.
Re: Health benefits of cinnamon and honey

Re: Health benefits of cinnamon and honey
I have a good friend with COPD. I can't give you a miracle cure, but I can tell you what she is doing that really seems to be helping.
Step #1 - She quit smoking. That alone probably has saved her life.
Step #2 - Build up her immune system. She is eating as well as possible including LOTS and LOTS of greens and fresh fruits and veggies. Really trying to get nutrition out of everything that she eats. She is also paying attention to her body and sleeping when she needs rest.
Step #3 - She is exercising. EVERY DAY. Most of what she does is just gentle seated stuff, like pedaling a bike with no resistance or working on shoulder and arm strength with light dumbbells. My friend has seizure disorders as well and even walking is difficult for her, because several time when she has walked she has had a blackout and ended up with a broken bone. Even as challenging as exercise is for her she does it. EVERY DAY.
The first time the doctor saw my friend he diagnosed her with COPD and congestive heart failure. The last time he saw her (a couple of months ago) he told her that if he had been a betting man he would have not given her 6 months to live that first time he saw her. Today (three years later) she is doing very well and has even had much of her medication reduced.
God designed our bodies to heal themselves. We need to give it the proper ingredients to use, so that it CAN heal.

Re: Health benefits of cinnamon and honey
13 years ago I was told that I have COPD, with an asthma component. I was warned that within two years I would be on oxygen, and confined to my house. Now understand I was 33 years old, a heavy smoker, and a couch potato. Today I am very active, able to walk 8 miles without breathing issues, (can't run without getting winded) and have only traces of the obstructions that led to that diagnosis.
So here's what the doc said
"There's really not any chance of improvement. The best we can do is manage the decline in lung function..."
Here's what I did:
1) stopped smoking
2) started turning off the television, and going for walks
3) really paid attention to what I was eating and drinking (I drink two or three sodas a week at the most these days.
4) really got serious about growing my own foods, without the use of chemicals.
I take advair (500/50) but at half the dosage recommended. Oh and they still have not tried to put me on O2 Yes I was much younger than you when I started down this path, but you are still not too old to try

Re: Health benefits of cinnamon and honey
I can hardly walk 25 ft with out havin to stop, I`de give anything to be able to walk further, my doctor has not mentioned oxygen yet. The ONLY thing that has ever helped me was Spireva, but, after a while it had no effect on anymore. My son an my daughter have offered me one of their lungs. I really don`t know what to do.. Oh, I did quit smokin a little over two years ago.

Re: Health benefits of cinnamon and honey
One thing I know is that I would never take something like that from one of my kids. I just couldn't do that.
Instead of waiting for your doctor ASK for that oxygen! I have found that it is important to be very upfront with doctors. Ask lots of questions. If you do some research on the side that sounds interesting... make copies and give it to the doctor. Often they are so busy they don't have time to do research on their own.
Another thing to check out is physical therapy. My friend with the COPD was able to go to a respiratory therapy clinic. She could go twice a week if she wanted to. It was covered by her Medicare. They were able to do medically supervised exercise sessions with her and had specialty equipment. They taught her exercises that she continued to do at home and after her therapy ended. That REALLY helped a lot.
BTW she called me today. She just got done with a series of tests and they have now taken her off of her oxygen! She has had 95% improvement over where she was in the beginning.
If she can do it you can too!

I would never take either one of my child's lungs either, I have been lookin into to stem cell therapy where they use your own stem cells, looks promising..........
