To make gravy in the juices from crock pot cooking, add enough flour or cornstarch to 1/4 -1/2 cup of water to make a thin paste. Pour into the juices, whisk well and turn pot on high. When it comes to a boil (about 15 minutes depending on your crock pot), it is ready.

When you have a salad recipe that includes a special dressing, mix the dressing in the bottom of the bowl you will use to serve the salad. When it comes time to make the salad, just place the salad fixings on top of the dressing and toss. This prevents dirtying an extra bowl.
