This is the boar and Wilbur after the rain yesterday. They were truly happy. I wish I could have been out there taking pctures in the rain. They were running around and splashing in it. You have to have mud for pigs exspecially in the summer. Pigs can get sun burned and it helps with the flies. I have a pic of Wilbur where she is a little sunburned. Junior sprays water in the pen every evening it there is none and sprays the pigs. They have a place to go inside but it was flooded yesterday until Junior went to open the gate and it flooded the front field. The water got caught at the door and the log that blocks the space under the door where it has washed out. They are already out this morning playing in the mud. They coat them selves all over with it and as it dries it flakes off. Then they roll again. They like to lay in it because it is cool. The mud in their pen is slimey looking. They can make ponds that hold water. I have been told if you have a pond that will not hold water then turn a few pigs loose and they will fix it. I like to watch them play in the mud. They look like they have a lot of fun in it and if you are not careful they will share some with you. The landrace exspecially likes to splash you.
