We've been having problems with some of our soap molds releasing and was  wondering if anyone else has had this problem and overcome it and if so, how.

Yes, I am a soaper.

If you have a problem getting the mold to let go just pop the whole thing into the freezer for a bit.  It won't affect the soap at all.  When you take the mold back out the soap will have contracted slightly from being cold and a very thin layer of condensation will form between the cold soap and the mold making the soap slip out a treat.

Of course then you need to let the soap thaw out a bit before cutting.  Frozen soap is hard.  Very Happy

Thanks.  I'll try that the next time because I really like the molds, but it's ruining the looks of the soap.  I made some lavander soap and put some of the petals in it, but it stuck in the molds.  They would have been pretty if I could have gotten them out.

Could you maybe spray the molds with cooking oil?
