What crafts do you like to do?
I'm interested in what crafts everyone does. I like to sew, do machine embroidery, crochet, knit, scrapbook, rubber stamp, make cards and do basically any kind of crafts. I've made wooden ornaments with a scroll saw in the past, dabbled with making bath salts/soap, and did the plastic canvas needle point when it was popular. Years ago I did candle making, macrame, and a bit of basket weaving in high school. I've also done some beading/jewlery making, beaded Christmas ornaments, painting with oils and acrylics.

Woodworking is my craft of choice. I build mainly Country Pine Furniture and small accent pieces, sell some on ebay, and on craigslist here local. The old charm of pine furniture just fits with my wanting to be more self sufficient and homesteading.

I like all types of crafts. I like to crochet and knit. I paint eggs and make clothespin dolls. DH use to do woodworking, just little knick knacks, that I would paint. I do dough art and want to learn how to make pine straw baskets and goat milk soap.

I have lots of hobbies I rotate around, but right now my top two favourites are primitive bow making (the kind you shoot, not the kind you wear in your hair) and flytying.

That bow making sounds very interesting. I'd love to see some pictures of your bows. What kind of wood do you make them out of? Do you make your own arrows too?

Re: What crafts do you like to do?
I make self bows but I might venture into other types down the road. It is somewhat of a new hobby so I have not done any arrows yet, but I will come spring. Last bow I made was Oak, I backed it with sinew and hide glue made from deer, amazing stuff for backing bows. I am in the middle of making a 72" pyramid bow out of maple, I would like to get a #65 draw weight out of it... I have it on hold until the spring because my workshop is not heated and well, Canadian winters and woodworking without heat don't mix lol. I would love to get my hands on some Oasge orange, that stuff can not be beat for bow making. But, around here it is impossible to find so I would have to order a staff from online, might do that this spring once I can get back into the workshop. I was looking at your woodworking Rohn, very talented! you should give the bow making a try if you have not already. I will post a couple pics, once I figure out how lol. I will check that task out later or sometime this week and post some pictures

If you were closer, I know where there's Osage orange growing around here.

OO is a beautiful wood to turn. It is quite hard and turns nice and smooth.

I love the natural color of it. I was looking at the pen you made out of the OO farm post, very nice! I would like to add a lathe to my workshop, I would love to try turning some wood. I have a lot of tree's with nice size burls mapped out for when I get a lathe, I have been thinking of trying a grinder on one to see if that would work or not
