Shredded Beef Sloppy Joe
Shredded Beef Sloppy Joe
5 to 7 pound Top Round, Bottom Round, Eye of Round or other Beef Roast
1 or 2 packages of dry Sloppy Joe seasoning mix or equivalent homemade mix
2 or 3 (8 ) ounce cans of Tomato Sauce
2 or 3 cans of water
Brown the roast on all sides in a little oil in a pot on the stovetop. Transfer the roast to the crock pot, add the dry seasoning mix, tomato sauce and water. Stir, cover and cook on high. Check every hour or so and turn the roast over. Take 2 forks and shred the meat as the meat begins to soften up. Serve on hard or kaiser rolls. It should take 5 or more hours for the roast to cook and soften up enough to shred.
Can also be made in the pressure cooker for faster cooking time.
