Please be praying for a family in Texas. It's a Christian homeschooling family, and the mom had a blog. Last week she blogged about disciplining her youngest, and someone with an opposing view on spanking picked it up and sent it all over the internet. Today child protection services came and demanded to do an examination of the child, and to check out the home. Thankfully only the dad was home, and refused entry without giving them any details. However, they know it isn't over yet.

Here is a good article to read about what's happening in Texas -- very scary.

I recommend this (http://www.newswithviews.com) article -- NWV News - Sarah Foster -- Coalition Asks Texas Governor to Veto "Take Away Your Child Act". You should check this out at, http://www.newswithviews.com/NWV-News/news149.htm

The prayers of the righteous availeth much.

You're right, this is scary. I'm afraid it's only going to get worse. The government wants full control of every aspect of our lives, including raising our children. Everyone that is a Christian needs to be very careful about what they say on the internet. It's a shame, but this is our new world, and I don't think it's going to get any better.

And of the US ever ratifies the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child I can easily say, "you ain't seen nothing yet". Every member of the U.N. has ratified this document except the United States and Somalia. Ratification of this document would supercede the laws of the United States and there is a new move under way to ratify it during the Obama Presidency. We'd better hope not. An overview printed by UNICEF can be found here: http://www.unicef.org/crc/files/Rights_overview.pdf
Be sure and read between the lines!!! If you want to take the time, the entire document is here: http://www.unhchr.ch/html/menu3/b/k2crc.htm

The UN Convention on child's rights is truly a SCARY document. And that this country would even THINK of ratifying it is even scarier.
I think I can safely say here that many of us will go underground with homeschooling because you know one of the first things that will be attacked is the right to teach your child as you see fit, with Christian principles and Christian rearing.
Thanks for the link regarding the Texas family! I didn't even hear anything about it and I am in Texas!
