Sunset magazine has a nice website.. here are 9 herbs they say are indispensable for your kitchen garden.

The only thing they list that I don't have is chives. They grow wild all throughout my yard, so couldn't see buying them. Smile

Good for you! I have some of the seed packets here, and going to look for plants too.

We have our garden ready for planting.. got the tomatos in pots the other day, and we are re-working an old garden spot.. had some aged manure hauled in.. I'm going to pick up chicken wire today.. we have so many deer here the garden won't last long unless it's fenced.

I have decided that seed starter is just that - it will start the seeds, but nothing will grow in it! Everything that I transplanted just perks up so nicely in garden dirt.
