Essential Oils for Pets Empty Essential Oils for Pets

We have a 16 year old chihuahua who has a history of disc problems in a couple of areas of his back, and last summer was diagnosed with a collapsing trachea. He was on medications for many weeks, along with crate rest. After awhile it seemed the medications did not help him, although crate rest helped a lot.

He often wheezes and has a hard time breathing, doing a lot of coughing and sneezing even more than usual. I started using a few drops of eucalyptus and lavender oils on a cotton ball and I have him sniff it and then place it near him. It works every time! The oils open up the airways and relax him. Hopefully he'll never have to have surgery and we can make him comfortable for many years to come. He is as energetic as a pup!

I'm glad the oils work to help him, I hope he lives an active life for the remainder of his years.

That's great! I didn't realize essential oils could help pets, but it makes sense.
