I've heard it said that to be successful in life you must have a liberal education. The quote cited was penned in 1935, and referred to making a living on a small farm where the farmer must be vet, a biologist, a chemist, mechanic, electrician, blacksmith, plumber, and carpenter. It occurs to me that todays homesteader could take a cue from this and always try to liberally educated in as many fields of study as can be learned.
