Growing Peanuts
This is our first year to grow peanuts. Does any one have any tips. These are saved seeds from someone elses crop from last year. What kind of fertilizer do they need, do they need a lot of dirt on them or just a little. Thank you
Re: Growing Peanuts
Not sure about the fertilizer, but you need to make sure the dirt you plant them in isn't too packed because it will hinder them forming the peanuts.
Re: Growing Peanuts
peanuts are a legume, they are a nitrogen fixer. Wood ashes, and a low nitrogen fertilizer seem to work best. If I remember correctly we planted them in hills about 1" deep.
