Hello from the show me state!
Some of you know me as whiskeylivewire on HT. I am a full time student(15 hours of online classes) and a mother to 5. 3 are from my womb, 2 are from my heart. I am married to a wonderful man and we are slowly but surely getting a homestead. We live in the country, we have dogs and cats, now we are working on getting chickens, possibly goats and at least one cow. I can't wait to start my garden and I have a few things growing inside already. I can't wait to get to know all of you as we help each other on our homesteading path and our path with God! Take care, Nicole

Re: Hello from the show me state!
Welcome to our little part of the world Nicole. I like the way you said you had 2 kids from the heart. My son is also from the heart. I use to tell him that he didn't grow in my tummy, but in my heart.
I'm glad you decided to join us. Right now the forum is a little slow, but seems to be picking up a little.
I'm also looking forward to starting my garden. I plan on putting in my second herb garden this year too.
My Mom was born and raised in Poplar Bluff. I still have some second cousins and a great aunt that live there.

Re: Hello from the show me state!
I bought one of those herb garden sets at dollar general and I have sprouts! The other day DH wanted to give me something as a present just to be nice and instead of buying me flowers he bought me this tiny claypot that came with 4 leaf clover seeds! And an inside tomato grower as well! I don't eat tomatoes but I like to grow everything so I thought that was nice of him and now I have some things turning green when it's so cold out! yay! lol

Re: Hello from the show me state!
LOL Those are the best kind of gifts. Last year for Christmas Joe bought me supplies to make soap, complete with a book to teach me how. I haven't tried it yet, but have a couple of goats who should be giving birth in the next couple of weeks. I plan on making some goat milk soap.
