Post by Rohn Sat Sep 07, 2013 10:48 pm

Has anyone here tried drying tomatoes? and if you have how do you use them after they are dry?
This is our first year with the dehydrator and we are just learning.

I have eaten dried tomatoes that others have dried and prepared in italian dishes, but no first hand experience here.

I did find this page that is full of links, maybe that'll get you started

Drying Tomatoes Question Empty Re: Drying Tomatoes Question

I just slice them and dry them. They do fine.

Another fun thing to do is to make sauces and then dry that on a jelly roll pan. Once dry I run it through the food processor to make tomato sauce powder. Add a spoonful of tomato goodness to recipes with very little storage space necessary.
