Today I canned some bread and butter pickles and some tomatoes. It won't be long till I'll have green beans and purple hull peas ready to can.

Taught my D2 how to can green beans last week. It was her first time pressure canning. Now she has 21 pints of green beans and she is thrilled with them. She is showing her beans off to anyone that will look at them. Laughing

We've just started getting greenbeans. Got enough for supper last night, but didn't have enough ready to can yet. Same thing with our purple hull peas. There's a lot of them, just waiting for them to fill out a bit more. We're also finally getting okra, but not enough to put up yet. Instead I cut enough to cook some for Ty for supper last night. He loves fried okra. Smile I figure next week I'm going to be really busy canning peas and beans, and I'm stll canning tomatoes. I think I'm done putting up pickles, but we're getting a lot of cucumbers, so maybe not. Unfortunately our corn isn't doing that great. Our brussel sprouts seem to be coming along pretty well, but this is the first time I've grown them, so not sure how long it takes to reach maturity.

We had ham hocks, potatoes and green beans for supper last night. It took two pickings to have enough for that. My Rattlesnake pole beans are just starting to produce.

So far D2 has only grown enough for dinner. The beans that she canned she bought from the Farmers Market.
