Why Are So Many Bad Things Happening to America?

Have you ever wondered why things have been going so badly for the United States in recent years? Our economy is falling apart, we have been plagued with heat, drought and endless natural disasters, our cities are absolutely crumbling, we just keep getting involved in even more wars and Americans are more anxious and more overweight than ever before. So why are so many bad things happening to America? Why do we lead the world in so many bad categories? Why does nothing seem to be going right? Are we under some kind of a curse? It is almost as if we have entered a "perfect storm" that just keeps getting worse. In the old days it would seem like something bad would happen to the United States every once in a while, but now massive problems seem to be hitting us in rapid fire fashion. At this point, many Americans have "crisis fatigue" because our problems never seem to end. Each new crisis just seems to overlap with all of the other problems that are still going on. So why is this happening, and what is our country going to look like if our problems continue to multiply at this rate?

The first comment I read at the end of the article I agree with. We in American as a whole have turned our backs on God and His Word. There is so much evil out there in our land and people are not turning to God as they once did. It seems like many people are just laughing at God and going their own way regardless of what He has told us in His Word. The only way to reverse this is for people to fall on their faces, cry out to God for mercy, turn from their evil ways and seek to know and do God's will.
We need to remember that what God says in His word is not just guidelines but it is something we must obey to the fullest extent.
When and only when America turns back to God can we again expect His blessing as we have had in times past.

I whole heartedly agree with you Rohn. The sad part is, I don't think that will ever happen, the United States isn't mentioned in the Bible in the end times.

I agree with you you, Rohn. Sin is a very serious thing, so serious that God sent his Son to save us from the consequences of it. Even though scripture clearly outlines what sin is, America has scoffed and embraced evil. Sin is rampant in our society, our schools, our politics, our homes, and even in our churches. People just don't want to obey God and serve him. "Self" is number one.

The Bible tells us that in the end, men will be lovers of themselves. We're certainly seeing that today. I firmly believe God is trying to get our attention. When you look at scripture, every time God's people turned their backs and disobeyed, there were serious consequences. I think we, as a nation, have sown the wind, so to speak, and we're going to reap the whirlwind as a result.

By God's grace and by His help I intend to serve Him and live a holy life regardless how the world lives. I want to be among that number recorded in Revelations 7:9-17. Just because all around us we see people living in open violation of God's Word doesn't mean we have to go that way. By His grace we can live holy lives and make heaven our home. Praise His Name!!!

I second what what Rohn and mm have said.

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. In so many Churches today it seems that people are being taught only parts of the scripture. We learn about our loving God, but not many preach that God is also a righteous judge. There has to be a balance and America, as a nation, has gotten away from that balance. Too often Christians are afraid of offending others, so they won't speak the truth.
