Everything that I have ever read says that the lumber yard plastic will usually only last one season... if that. You can save money everywhere else, but you really MUST buy the greenhouse plastic to stay cost effective.

I agree but in times of extreme financial difficulties, getting stuff started with just inexpensive 6 mil clear builders plastic would be better than not having a hoophouse at all.
