What to use for stovetop?
What do you use to clean your stove top? I has a gas stove, so I remove the burners and spray with oven cleaner, then wipe, but it still doesn't get all the baked-on stuff. I don't want to scratch the enamel.

Baking soda works pretty good. Just start by putting it on dry, and using it as a scrub. Then add a little water to make a paste. It will not scratch, but is abrasive enough to get the job done.

When mine gets bad enough I take the top off the stove and do multiple coats of oven cleaner. I usually do it during the summer and take the top out on the patio.
For everyday cleaning I use the Lysol wipes with the scrubbing stuff on them, it's a purple material added to the wipes.

Thanks. I've not heard of the coated wipes, Patrice. Chad, the baking soda works for me if I get to the stove right away. . .which I usually don't. LOL!

I read somewhere to soak a rag in ammonia, put it on the spot you want to clean and cover it with a bowel overnight but haven't tried it.

we just use hot water to soften the gunk and a lot of patience, then dish soap again in hot water. Takes a bit of time but no harsh chemicals or smells to get the job done
