Stuffing Tomatoes???
We had a friend give us some "stuffing tomato" seeds this year and we have a few of them from our plants. I wonder if anyone has a recipe for the stuffing and how you use them? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Stuffing Tomatoes???
core and fill with:
tuna,
cheeses,
bread crumbs and cheese,
pepperoni and top with cheese (provolone)
sausage and rice mix,
etc
bake enough to melt the cheese, or enjoy cold.
A tomato is a tomato is a tomato...they vary slightly in acidity, and those of the same color vary little in taste, but the size and shape of the fruit are what puts them into different classes
Salad tomato, slicing tomato, stuffing tomato...there are also eating tomato, juicing tomato, and paste tomato that help you determine flesh content and moisture content of each type.

Re: Stuffing Tomatoes???
Well we had our stuffed tomatoes tonight. DW put in carrots, onion, celery, garlic, oregano, olive oil, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and dried basil. They didn't taste too bad. They just didn't taste. We both agreed that they needed something more with a bit more taste.
Here is what they looked like
They look better than they taste.

Try some browned crumbled Italian sausage, diced peppers and onions cooked lightly in sausage drippings, cubed Italian bread and parmesan cheese. Mix in some basil and thyme then drizzle with olive oil before baking.

Re: Stuffing Tomatoes???
You could use cubed potatoes instead of bread cubes too.
