This is burr comb. It is one way the bees keep their hive together. They connect the top and bottom boxes together with it.
Here is uncapped uncured honey. The bees have not capped this yet. When they cap it they cure it into honey as we know it.
This is propolis. It is another sticky substance that keeps the hive together. It is double sticky. It is stronger than pine sap. Junior scrapes itoff his hands two days afteropening a hive. They seal the boxes together with it.
