Man Killed, but killers go free
I am not a debator or arguer, but I wondered what y'all thought about this.
Angry Neighbors Won't Be Charged in Beating of Suspect in 11-Year-Old Girl's Rape
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,525088,00.html
I just feel like they opened the door for people to mob and attack and kill people. He was a person of interest, and had not had a trial or actually been charged with anything. Wow, we are sliding down the tubes in the country on every level......
I am not even sure what to think anymore....

Re: Man Killed, but killers go free
Honestly, if they would keep these people off the street in the first place you would not see stuff like this happen. Why isn't there more outrage at the rape of an 11 year old girl? And the article said she was raped repeatedly.
Should those people have done that? Probably not, but I can totally understand why they did. The court systems are bogged down, they continuously release criminals back into society and there are just some criminals that need to be locked up for life. Those that rape children should be at the top of the list to keep behind bars. I don't really have a problem with what they did.

Re: Man Killed, but killers go free
I do have a problem with what they did because vigilante justice is not the way to go. This time it may or may not be deserved, but if people get away with it in cases like this, what happens when it becomes illegal to read the Bible?

I understand what you are saying but I don't feel sorry for the guy. I have a really hard time when it comes to the rape of a child. Most get a slap on the wrist and are out abusing children again. Most people just turn their heads the other way or don't get involved. So what you end up with is sex offenders with no consequences and kids see this.
Did you know that about 85% of boys in school think it is okay to force a girl into having sex even if the girl says no? Allowing men or women get away with that kind of behavior tells kids it's okay.

Oh, I don't feel sorry for the guy. In my opinion he should be castrated, without anathesia (sp) But I don't agree with vigilante justice either.

I don't agree with vigilante justice, but I don't feel sorry for the perps when it is unleashed. I can even see the POV of the police. Lord knows that they are constantly underfire. It is getting to the point that if they so much as say boo they are under investigation for abuse of their power.
Hey! Where did the evil mad faces go?????

Yeah, I know. I think eventually we'll have to go to vigilante type of justice, but until then, I think it's better to try to let the system handle it. Even though I think the system is messed up.

Are they 100% sure that he was the man who did it? I did not see that anywhere. It just said he was a person of interest. I think it is detestable what happened to that precious little girl.
Re: Man Killed, but killers go free
At first he was a suspect then a very serious suspect. I think they found his DNA.

Re: Man Killed, but killers go free
This is to be a government of the people for the people. With the bureaucracy we see in the courts today it is no wonder we see public outrage.
It should in no way cost a million dollar court trial and two years to convict a man of murder, but it does. The article said he had 17 prior arrests! This guy should have never been on the street to start with.
Odds are this kid never had a dad at home to kick his butt back when it would have made an impact in his life.
Condone it? No. But I think the police showed a lot of common sense in their decision, we could stand to see more of that these days…
