I have a wild game cook book. It has several recipes in it for diffrent animals that people usually do not eat. Raccoon, beaver, muskrat ect.. Stuff the old timers use to eat to supplement their diet. I have access to beaver on the creek by the house and wanted to know how to go about catching one of these. Or how to catch anything else for that matter. It doesnt have it in this book but at the wild life cook off they use to have in Decatur they serves snake and skunk along with other stuff like that. And opposum is suppost to be so high in protein that it is not good to eat a lot of it. They sell potted oppusum meat if you can find it.
their coats are thicker and the fur is better. They sell for more money
beaver are trapped with an anchored "water set". Set the leg hold trap in about 6 to 8 inches of water. To attract the beaver to the trap you need running water (the sound of running water causes them to want to dam up an area)
