I've already decided to bring home a couple of my older hens next year because of the problems we had w/bugs in the garden this year! I plan on having a small gate into the garden that they can get in-if it's open.

Thanks 12acre! I have worked hard on the site to help lots of folks just starting up.12acrehome wrote:I just looked, and yes LOTS of very good info, even for old hands...here'e a random sample paragraph:Farmfresh wrote:Check our my website http://www.ubuilderplans.com.
There is lots of good info to help get you started there.
What was true in 1918 is still true today. The backyard chicken can be a valuable asset in the difficult economy that we face today as well. A few chickens in the backyard can provide your family with nutritious eggs and meat, supplement your garden with fertilizer and help keep your lawn pest free. All the while using very little of our most precious resources - time and money.
You're welcome. The effort put into the site shows.
Proverbs 28:19 He who works his land will have abundant food...
Genesis 1:29 Then God said,"I give you every seed bearing plant on the face of the whole earth, and every tree that has fruit with seed in it..."
Farmfresh, thank you very much for the link to the website. I will put it to good use.
