Hello from NE Alabama Empty Hello from NE Alabama

Post by NEAlabamaGoatLover on Tue Jan 15, 2013 9:32 am

I just discovered this forum through an on-line friend at another forum related to homesteading and hobby farming.
My husband and I moved from Florida to our dream homestead about two years ago. We are still both working full-time, but hope to eventually 'retire' to work our farm.

I look forward to sharing information and encouragement with like-minded folks!

Hi NE Ala,
We're glad you joined us. I'm also a goat lover. Smile What part of Florida did you live in? We moved to GA from Lakeland, FL. Before Florida we lived in NW Alabama.

Howdy "'Bama goat lover" My wife and I moved to our dream land with the intention of retiring to our homestead / mini farm (Know as the wanna be a mini farm so bad) about three years ago now. So far it has been a great journey, and a great blessing. The possibilities are endless, even if the finances to support fanciful endeavors are not. Very Happy

Welcome, and enjoy. I've been here a year now, and can say without hesitation that you will not find a better bunch of folks to hang out with anywhere on the net.

Welcome! I gave my homestead dream up a year ago but there is some light at the end of the tunnel for me to get back into it. A friend has a barn right down the road from me where she keeps her sheep in the summer and has offered it to me to keep goats and chickens there in exchange for helping her with chores and milking her goats and sheep. You will find everyone here very kind, supportive and knowledgeable.
