Avatar changed Empty Avatar changed

Post by 12acrehome Mon Oct 22, 2012 11:28 am

Hi everyone,

I have changed my Avatar to reflect my desire to hunt more this year than the past few have allowed. So what you are looking at now is my muzzleloading double rifle. It is a .54 x .54 caliber that fires a 430 grain bullet at 1,400 feet per second and delivers over 1,800 pounds feet of energy.

This rifle is special to me for a couple reasons. First it represents what can be done when you put your mind to a task. In this case the task was not spending what I was saving money for until two goals had been reached. The second reason for this one, and why I chose this for my avatar, it represents a change in my life for the better. About 9 years ago I was warned to stop smoking, or I would be on oxygen within two years. Well I finally put 'em down, but needed something to focus on. I found this rifle offered by a couple dealers and began putting what I would have spent on cigarettes aside...9 months later I had cash in hand for the $1,400 purchase. I made myself wait a full year before placing the order. So now when I want to smoke something it means something totally different than what it did 9(ish) years ago. Cool

Ok new Avatar in place, this is the day I met "Buckshot" He's about a week old in the picture. "Buck" has decided he prefers being a house beagle over the life of a hunting dog. Buck's been with us about 16 months now, and has settled in with "the pack" which includes two yorkies and a Border Collie mix, along with 4 rescue cats.

thanks,
He is kinda cute, but, being a dog, has some personality traits that dull the cuteness Wink

Beagles are fun dogs. A very good friend of mine has one names Arnie. We take her riding with us sometimes and she goes ballistic when shes sees a rabbit or a squirrel out the window of the truck.

Beagles and German Shepherds are my two favorite dogs.
