Good morning from Georgia Empty Good morning from Georgia

Post by godsgapeach Wed May 13, 2009 10:30 pm

Hi, all! I'm from east central GA and I homeschool dd-14 and ds-who'll turn 9 on Friday. Dh works for a "well known" southern wood treater in the area (ever seen the guy with the yella hat?).

I grew up on the farm which consists of about 150 cows + calves and Daddy has 5 commercial chicken houses. I moved off to college swearing I'd never come back. But ha ha! I've been back for 14 years. As for homesteading I've been gardening for years and can/freeze as much as I'm blessed with; I've got 4 beehives and I'm beginning my 3rd year with them; I've planted blueberries and apple trees--hopefully they'll be producing in a year or so; and most recently I've been working with the cows more and we're in the process of converting to rotational grazing from permanent pasture.

Dh and I both work with 7th-8th graders at church--he the boys affraid and I'm VERY thankful to be with the girls class! We have a great time and we talk about REAL issues they're dealing with and how God's Word applies to every situation.

That's about it in a nutshell. Thanks for starting this forum!
Blessings!
