Here's the name of a book I love!
I had mentioned in another thread that I bought a book that has some old fashioned tips in it. The name of the book is "1,001 Old Time Household Hints" Written by the editors of Yankee Magazine. It's awesome and if you get a chance to get it I don't think you would be disappointed.
Here's my tip of the day from it:
Dustless Dusters
Premoistened wipes for dusting tabletops aren't a newfangled product. Instead of buying those disposable furniture polish cloths, make your own. Get some cheesecloth and lemon oil. (you may have to ask around different grocery stores for lemon oil)
Pour 1/4 cup of lemon oil into 1 pint of hot water, in a bucket. Soak four of five pieces of cheesecloth (cut 10 inches by 10 inches) in the mixture. Wring out the cheesecloth squares until they're almost dry then hang them in a cool, dry place for 24 hours. There's no special storage needs for them. When they become dirty, machine wash them and re-treat with the lemon oil solution.

I haven't tried this yet, so let me know how it works out. I'll try to post another tip from the book tomorrow.
