Making your own salves

Making your own salves
If you can make an infused oil and have access to beeswax, you can make a salve. Simply grate about 1/4 ounce of beeswax for each half cup of infused oil. In a heavy, non-reactive pan, warm the infused oil over low heat. Add the beeswax and stir until it melts. Remove the pan from the heat and allow to cool slightly, pour the mixture into jars while still warm. Once the mixture cools completely, close the jars tightly.
