A good place to see your progress each week. Pick a day you want to weigh in, then post results here so everyone can help with suggestions on how to improve, or just encourage you.

As best as I can tell I did have a loss of one pound this week. Only 9 more to go to meet my first goal. Smile

Sorry I haven't gotten back to this thread sooner. Great job Mississippi Momma! Smile

I also lost 1 pound. I have decided I'm going to try to focus more on the carb counts than calorie counts at this point. I need to start tracking my carbs better to help keep my diabetes under control.

I got a good work out today tilling the garden, so I'm actually feeling pretty good, blood sugar wise. I've been getting quite a bit more exercise the past couple of weeks.

Thank you Sonshine.
Good going Patrice.

I'm getting out more and doing more gardening and yardwork. Why, I even mowed part of the front yard yesterday afternoon. I can hardly walk today after mowing that small patch but I did it and that's the first time I used a lawn mower in quite a while. Smile

Tomorrow is my weigh in day. I'm hoping that I've lost at least another pound.

Post by Mississippi Momma on Fri Apr 08, 2011 9:46 pm

I weighed this morning. No loss but no gain. I stayed the same. I need to eat less at night, eat earlier and be more active after dinner.

I think that is my downfall as dinner is our largest meal. I've been doing pretty good during the day eating smaller meals. I've been eating breakfast, then about ten I eat a small meal, then about one another small meal but nothing until dinner. Guess maybe I need to put another small meal between the one o'clock and dinner.

Mississippi Momma another small snack with some protein between lunch and dinner would be a good idea as it keeps your metabolism burning calories. You could always try a smaller dinner and an evening snack. My dietician recommended a late evening snack so my blood sugar didn't plummet during the night. I usually have some cheese crackers and fruit or a bowl of cereal with milk. Make sure you are getting enough protein to help keep you feeling full.

I'm down another pound this week. Yeah Smile I have been getting a whole lot more exercise this past week while gardening and cleaning up the yard so I'm sure that has helped a lot.

Good going, Patrice. I need to get outside more and do more bending and walking.

I try not to eat anything after six-thirty or seven. I have acid reflux really bad and if I eat even a snack later I have trouble all night.

I am going to try harder this week to lose. I'm disappointed when I stay the same. Of course I'm not starving myself so I know that it's going to be slow go.

Post by Mississippi Momma on Mon Apr 18, 2011 2:06 am

I let weigh in day slip by me on Friday. Guess what with all the bad weather and then going to visit my cousins I forgot it. I did remember to weigh in this morning and as best as I can tell I'd lost a pound. That's not a lot but it's better than gaining a pound. Smile

I don't have the digital scales. I'm going to have to get me some so I can see the numbers better. Of course I'll sure be disappointed if I weigh more than I'm thinking. LOL

Don't feel bad, I let it slip by too. LOL I lost another pound as well. Slow and steady wins the race! Smile

I have an old fashioned scale as well. I did have a digital one but when the battery died and I couldn't get a replacement, I just bought a regular old fashioned one to replace it. Very Happy

It took me over a year to lose 30 pounds. I have kept it off though. The best time to weigh yourself is when you wake up in the least amount of clothing as possible. Wink All you food has digested and you will get a true weight. Clothes weigh anywhere from 1 to 5 pounds depending on what you wear. Shocked

Keep up the good work!

I decided not to weigh in this week with ALL the birthday desserts I've eaten, I'd probably see a weight gain. Wink

I'll get back on track Monday, after I eat my chocolate Easter bunny. LOL Very Happy

LOL, Patrice. I may be like that next week after our lunch tomorrow. I'm making fresh strawberry pies and that is one dessert that it's almost impossible for me to say "No." to. Along with the potato salad and butter beans and everything else on the menu. Smile

I forgot to weigh-in Friday. Didn't think of it until Monday and after I weighed I wished I'd forgotten it completely. I gain two pounds.

I'm trying harder this week. Doing more outside work and walking more. Watching the food intake too. I messed up with all the leftovers from our Easter get together. But they're gone now so it's back to watching the carbs, calories and portions.

I've been REALLY, REALLY bad since Easter and I gained 3 pounds.

How come the pounds are SO EASY to put on but not to take off? Wink

I'll try to remember to weigh in tomorrow morning and post. I'm planning on cleaning out the chicken coop & yard bright and early in the morning so I may not get to it right away. Smile The girls are gonna LOVE me when I have to keep them locked in until I'm done.

Sonshine, I hope you're right. I've been doing a lot of bending and stooping while working in the garden and with the animals. And a lot more walking even though it's not the cardio walking it is walking. But my cardiologist told me gardening isn't exercise......It's an activity. I told William that undoubtably he's never hoed or weeded a garden. LOL

Patrice, I'm with you. I can walk by food and gain five pounds. It's discouraging sometimes. But I'm not going to give up.

BTW, I forgot to weigh this morning. I will in the morning and report in.

I just remembered to weigh in and I lost a pound this week. Cool

I probably just sweated it off this morning cleaning out the chicken's yard. Wink I'm too tired to clean their house, so it will have to wait until next week, if it isn't pouring all week again. Embarassed

Mississippi Momma my rheumetologist said gardening is a GOOD form of exercise, it just doesn't work the heart like walking will.

I weighed this morning and I've lost three pounds since Monday. I guess all that bending and stooping is paying off. Smile

Good going Patrice. LOL at sweating off the pound. I'll take them any way I can get them. Smile

I've read that gardening is a good exercise and my family doctor told me it was a good form of exercise but the cardiologist disagreed with that. Oh well, I feel better when I get out and garden and feed the animals since I have to walk all over the place to get all the animals fed. Smile

Mississippi Momma,
The reason your cardiologist disagreed that gardening is a good form of exercise is because it doesn't do anything for your cardiovascular. Fo that you will need to get the heart pumping. Walking is good for that and if given the opportunity, so is swimming. When I was able to, after my back surgery I started getting in the pool. The doctor wouldn't let me swim, because of the twisting that is required, but told me I could walk laps in the pool, or even get on a boogie board and kick.

Congratulations to both of you for the weight loss.

I forgot to weigh in again this morning. That is until after I ate and was dressed. I will weigh tomorrow morning. It won't be quite as hectic. Maybe I should move my weigh in day to Saturday. That way I won't forget so often.
