Nice! DH hasn't been hunting in forever. He's got a couple of neighbors that have invited him, so maybe this year he will. We have been getting some venison from neighbors though. I never turn down free food. Smile

My husband has always loved hunting. He hog hunts, deer hunts, rabbit hunts, squirrel hunts and coon hunts. But since the boys (our sons) have married and left home he does not hunt like he used to. He does it now for necessity not enjoyment.

The grandson is taking an interest in hunting, so maybe hubby will enjoy it more. Our mini farm keeps us so busy, but we love it! I hope your husband goes and kills a deer. You have to put up some deer jerky...it is wonderful.

One of our neighbors brought us over a couple of hams from his hog hunting. First time I evern tried to cure anything, but it turned out really well. I was kind of proud of myself over that. LOL

I love venison jerky, so I really hope he goes. He's been kind of protective of me since my back surgery and doesn't want to be away from me more than he has to. I wish he would go though. I think it would be good for him.

I have never had back surgery, my husband had 3 in 18 months. Really a hard time for him as he is usually very active. Always doing something! lol Is your recovery going well?

The recovery is slow. I had a doctor's visit this past Thursday and it's at the 90% healed point now. I'm able to walk now, which I wasn't able to do before, but there was a lot of irrepairable damage, so unless God intervenes I will live with the chronic pain. The only thing I have problems with now is with sitting. Before, I was having to use a wheelchair to walk more than a few feet. My left leg was atrophying, and the doctor said I was showing signs that the right leg was starting to atrophy. So thankfully they were able to stop the deterioration. I figure I've lived with pain for so long now that this new pain is something I'll adapt to.

hate to hear your back problems were so severe. My husband's disk ruptured, then collasped, and they had to go in and put cages in his back. he deals with alot of pain also, so we just take it one day at a time. I on the other hand am healthy as a horse (well an old horse!) lol The Lord has blessed me tremendously.....I take no medication except something otc meds. Now, things may change....but God is still good. Surprised

I'm sorry to hear of your husband's pain. It's not always easy to live with, but it's a great way to realize just how sufficient God's grace is. He has truly been my strength in my day to day life. Smile
