Very Happy I've noticed that there are at least a couple of other people here from GA. I'm in west central GA where we own just over two acres. It's not much, but we've been able to do quite a bit with it. Fruit trees, blueberry bushes, two raised beds and a large regular garden adorn our unlandscaped yard. My husband and I have five children and seven grandchildren. Our youngest two children are still at home - 18 and 11 year old sons. This is my 26th year of homeschooling and I currently teach our youngest son and one of our grandsons who is the same age. I also run a homeschooling support group and moderate a couple of email loops (one ironically enough has the same name as this site) as well as help moderate another website. We heat with wood and love it! It's basically been free heat for the past 25 years. I do lots of crafts, mostly crocheting lately and absolutely love to read. We're constantly trying to be more self-sufficient, or really God-sufficient. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi Deena and let me be the first to welcome you to the group. We live in middle GA on 2 acres. It amazes me how much you can actually do on a couple of acres. We have our veggie garden, an herb garden, a few fruit trees, blueberry, raspberry and blackberry bushes, strawberry patch, 14 chickens and 4 goats. We switched to heating with wood last year and I love it. We also have our water pump for our well set up on solar. If you enjoy crafts, please sign up for the anything homemade Christmas exchange we'll be doing. It should be fun, but we don't have many who have signed up for it yet. I'm glad you joined us and I look forward to sharing and learning from one another.

Hello from Tennessee. we are a homeschooling family with pigs, chickens, and ducks. I do recipes and cook all the time. I do not do any crafts because I am artisticlly challenged. I also have a brown thumb. Hubby grows the food here. I cook it and put it in the freezer or can it. we are up to 17 pigs right now and close to 50 chickens (all free ranged) We just sold the horse and sold our goats at the first of the year. We have been homsteading for 7 years and our next big project is two milk cows.

Hi Deena,

Ignore my e-mail. I see that you are now posting with no problem. Welcome to the forum! I am the resident brat and have been MIA due to numerous things. I run the debate area of the forum. What a Face

I am in Texas and have two boys that I homeschool.
