Can you traing chickens where to lay? I have several generations of chickens and they are all laying in diffrent places. The older ones lay in the nesting boxes and feed troughs that were in the barn when we moved here. My younger ones are laying on the gorund, in the corn field, and in the pasture in the weeds, my new ones i got yesterday are laying in the old grown up garden spot. My nesting boxes are all different levels, some inside some out side, some with hay and some with out. They are all free range and never locked up. Any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry, can't help you there. Mine are not free range. Too many free ranged dogs around.

We have had that problem in the past. We had over 100 chickens came home one after noon from camping at the creek to feed ( We came home twice a day) and had dead chickens from my back door to the back fence over two acers away. I was mad at my neighbors dog but couldnt prove she did it.
