Poison Ivy Empty Poison Ivy

We have poison ivy growing at the back of the house. Michael is really allergic to it. I don't want to use round-up or chemicals. Any ideas?

Boiling water and vinegar (white) and dawn dish liquid. Just a little dawn to make it stick to the leaves and vinegar it wilt it. The boiling water I think does the most work. Hubby has to take shots if he gets it and I killed it out here like that.

So, do you actually take it outside while it is boiling hot and pour it on the leaves?

yes I have a 5 quart stck pot that I use for it and all weeds that I want to get rid of not near the garden or flowerbeds. I get it to a rolling boil and take it out there and pour it over it. I did not use vinegar or soap for the last batch, I Just boild water and poured it all over it. Make sure you get all the leaves it helps it die faster. by the nect day it was well on its way.
