Flys and gnats everywhere
What can I spray on my horses to keep the flies away from them. Since the rain and the pigs are at the barn we have a fly problem big time this year and the gnats are taking off as well. Is there some kind of herbal oil that can use to spray on them. Bell is out there in the front yard right now in the movable fencing shaking her head and swating flies with her tail. I have pyretherian but do not want to use it if I can find something else. I am making fly traps with 2 liter coke bkottles again this year and they work good. You take a 2 liter bottle and cut the top off of it to form a funnel. Turn it upside down and put it back in to the bottom of the bottle. Staple it to the bottom of the bottle. Fill the bottom of the bottle with colored water (they are scared of the clear water) and add a little piece of raw meat to float on top of the water. (Make sure that the top of the funnel part doesnt touch the water). It will catch flies and drown them. I will take a pic after I make one yall can see it. I have top make them every year.

That's a good idea, Amy! never heard of it before!
We have one dog who goes crazy when the flies buzz around him... he is all agitated. Maybe I should put something on him.. I was thinking he needs a tranquilizer lol
