Do I have to massage my cow and give it sake to get marbelized beef

Post by amybyrd21 on Sat May 16, 2009 11:24 am

In Japan they have Kobe beef. It is really expensive as they have no land for beef really. They keep them locked up in stalls and feed them sake wine and grains. and someone massages them for some much time a day. What can I feed a beef cow to get marbilized meat with out massaging him and getting him drunk? I was wondering this after watching something on Kobe beef.

Kobe beef comes from Wagyu cattle... I would speculate that through selective breeding, they have a strong geneitic capability for marbling... The beer and massages may, or may not, enhance this characteristic... However.... If I were able to get $100lb.. For 650lbs of swinging beef... I might just invest in a few cans of beer and a backrub now and again, for such an animal...

Anyhow... My experiences with home-raised beef, have led me to solidly believe in the 100 days method... That is, 100 days prior to slaughter, you start the animal on grain.... Gradually increasing the amount of grain... (slowly, elsewise you run into laminitis, i. e.. founder).. Until you are feeding two to three gallons of grain per day... I can just about guarantee good beef from any breed, or sex, of bovine with this method....

On the other hand.. IMHO... Grass-fed beef is like a Tootsie Roll.... Chewey, chewey....

Environmentalists postulate that cattle belching, is a huge contributor to greenhouse gasses.. So you can imagine how much a drunk steer would belch.... Where is The outrage from Al Gore?... Obama's taste for Wagyu beef, should be a huge environmental issue.... I can assure you that it would be, if a Republican POTUS were the blatant consumer of the copious amounts of Kobe beef Obama indulges in, for himself and his power elite sycophants...

Ok what one of us is going to come up with a filter and a way to trap that gas and sell it to use. I am just wondering. Are we going to put carbon filters on their butts and some kind of valve to catch the gas. (that is all I could come up with)
