Come out of her my people

Come out of her my people

Post by timf on Thu Jun 13, 2013 11:09 pm

I was wondering where to post this and "Last Days" seems an appropriate category.

Our family moved from a large metropolitan area to rural South Dakota about nine years ago. One doesn't usually change aspects of their life to incur greater difficulty like moving to a rural area or homeschooling unless there are reasons. For us it was the desire to raise our children with less of the corruptive influences we saw in the city.

I once worked with a man who was a non-custodial parent. He said that his 13 year old son was the laziest person he knew. He said that the only time his son got up from a video game was to go to the refrigerator. It was one of the saddest things I had ever heard.

Jesus told his disciples that if they were of the world, the world would love them. Since they were not of the world, the world would hate them.

Paul said of Satan, we are not unaware of his schemes. It seems that Satan is the ruler of the world (for now and only insofar as he is allowed by God). If we look at human history we can see evidence of increasing collectivization. I see this as evidence of the need of Satan to collectivize the world (in order to be able to leverage his influence). I see this process of collectivization as almost complete.

Part of the process of collectivization is the flood of people from rural areas into cities. However, I have observed a trickle of people going in the reverse direction. People who leave an easier life for one more difficult. There are many reasons for this miniscule counter-migration such as "prepping", extreme environmentalism, shear economics, and those of us who desire to raise our families with less entanglement with the world.

I have found that even most people in rural areas are like their counter-parts in urban areas and that the influence of the world is quite pervasive. Now that our children are getting older, I am searching for ways to connect with other Christian families who might have a similar desire live with less worldly entanglement.

I'm glad to see you posting.  Joe and I became aware of the things you're speaking about several years ago.  The Lord had given me a vision.  I didn't really know anything about end time prophecies at the time, but in the vision I saw the horseman bringing famine to my front door.  Not knowing what the color of the horse meant I immediately got my Bible.  I knew it was in Revelations, so I began reading about the horsemen.  This is when I started trying to learn all I could about becoming more dependent on the Lord's bounty rather than what man could do for us.  I was raised in a large city.  We're in the military so I've seen many things and have lived all over the US and abroad.  In all the places I've lived I've seen the breakdown and corruption, even invading the Churches.  Joe retires in 2 years and by that time we will be pretty much debt free.  We already raise about 75 to 80% of our own food.  I make our own soaps and we are depending less and less on electrical appliances.  We have discussed these issues with other Christians we  know.  Some see it, some don't.  God has always had a remnant of people to stand strong and help others when things go bad.  I believe he is preparing a remnant for the days that are coming in the near future.

I wanted to refresh this thread in light of what we've seen today with China & the NYSE & also with Greece in the news lately.
Also, has anyone on here listened to the Messianic Jewish Rabbi Jonathan Cahn or read his books "The Harbinger" & "The Mystery of the Shemitah"? He addressed Congress back in April at Capitol Hill. He brought a warning of the judgment coming on our nation if we do not repent and turn back to God.

I have listened to some of his teachings in the past, and found his words to be very inspiring (and seemingly accurate)

Thanks for reviving this, very timely.
