Rabbit Babies Empty Rabbit Babies

Post by Rohn Thu Apr 04, 2013 12:41 am

Rabbit had babies a couple of days ago. We are not sure how many yet but we did find one dead one that was laying close to the opening of the nesting box. We don't want to disturb them too much yet. The last time she kindled there were four and all died but it was quite cold out. It is still pretty cold here (34 F) but I think they are still doing OK. I'll be posting pictures once they get old enough to be up and moving around.

These rabbits are pets. They are a small breed of rabbit called "Polish." They are my daughter's pets and she will be selling them if they survive.

I am actually considering getting meat rabbits in the near future.

Rabbit Babies Empty Re: Rabbit Babies

Post by Harvey_Birdman Thu Apr 04, 2013 1:32 am

I have a friend who makes a lot of money raising pet rabbits and selling them to local pet stores. He raises lion heads and floppy ears. He has a pair of lion heads that have blue eyes (a very rare trate) he get big bucks for the blue eyed bunnies.

So far I love raising meat rabbits, but I would suggest buying one to eat before raising any. So people I know love wild rabbit, but don't like the taste of tame rabbits. Personnaly I can't tell much differance. I guess a lot of it could be in how they are feed, and processed.

God bless,
Chad

Well our rabbit had two babies and one died. The remaining one is doing well although it's eyes are not yet opened. Here are some pictures I have taken to share with you all.

I am always amazed at how fast they get fur. Looks good Rohn. I hope it does well.
