Thanks for posting this. It is good information for the first and maybe the second season of growing. I do have a problem with this though. While you may be able to produce fruit in this fashion, it will be nutritionally deficient. Fruit plants like grape vines and apple trees send roots deeply into the soil (6 to 60 feet depending on variety) to gather trace elements of minerals, these minerals are not available in a potted growing medium (potting soil) and even if you could use the right mix of dirt, it would be depleted of these minerals after the first fruiting of the vine.
