pig fencing

pig fencing
I have had people asking me lately when I sell pigs what kind of fence is needed for a pig. We use hog wire fenceing, cattle panels, and one strand of electric fencing. The cattle panels are to close off places like farrowing pens or for gates. Some people use electric fence only. They put it 4 inches then 8 inches then 12 inches. Some people 4,6,8,12. It all depends on what you want to use and what kind of temperment your pig has. Ours has not bothered to get out of ours they respect the electric wire. They know when it is on and stay away from it. Every once in a while I have to go take the dirt off the fence where they root around it at. But they havent gotten out then either.
