Hello everyone,

I can't remember if I ever told the entire group the story of the picture I chose for my avatar so since there are so many new members this seems like a good time.

A little back ground: I started riding motorcycles in 2004 when I was 36, I was working at a factory, that has since closed, and gas was pushing $3.00/gal. A co-worker who happened to be an ordained minister roared into the parking lot one day (the day I met him, which is a story in humility that I may share later). Eventually we became friends, and with his help learned how to ride safely, and just how good of gas mileage a motorcycle can get. He also introduced me to a group called "The Christian Motorcycle Association". Through CMA I met members of "The Patriot Guard", and I ride with both on occasion. A third group I can be found in company of is "The Blue Knights", while I am not a member, I often wish they were more open with their membership. They are hung up on members being either active or retired police officers. Great bunch to be around when big events are going on.

So about the avatar...SPC Brandon Mullins US Army, killed in action August 25, 2011, funeral scheduled in his home town for 9-11-11, full honors. Word came through the Patriot Guard that a group was scheduled to protest this funeral, and they could only send 3 to stand in a "flag line", and needed help from local riders. 535 of us answered the call, with police escort the entire way to the church, and then the procession actually shut down the entire city for 45 minutes. The picture was taken by a friend of a friend while the procession was in motion, I am mid-pack of the lead pack, followed distantly by the family, that are followed by the military reps.

The protesters?? Two van loads drove by the flag line, and kept going Wink

Cool. there is a group of you guys that really helps out up here. They do different things from working the hold time of the Ninilchik Fair maintaining safety. There is lots of traffic --it is a rural country winding area with ton's of tourist and the parking lot is on one side of the highway and the fairground on the other Everyone must cross but the the CMA and the radios they stop all traffice as needed they have some people round the bend on radio's and two people at the gate.

Good JOB Great group. you guys are all over the place any one else got a group nearby

That's great that so many of you were able to answer the call and provide the protection that SPC Brandon Mullins US Army & his family deserved. I find that to be such a huge showing of respect for our fallen service members, thanks for taking part in it.

I'm honored to call you my brother. Smile It's terrible that there are people who feel the need to protest military funerals and I'm so glad there are folks like you that stand in the gap. Thank you and the other members for what you do.

well, thank you, we just do what's right. I just wanted everyone to know that not all who ride a motorcycle is some kind of gang member, or rebel rouser.

I was honored to stand with the family of one of our fallen heros.

Keith, I agree you do what's right, but that is what makes you and those who stand with you so special.

I'm the type that does not judge a book by it's cover. Having worked with kids from dysfunctional families has taught me some very valid lessons. The best puppet team I ever had was a couple of boys that had piercings and hair styles that most would look at and automatically think they were gang members. Those boys were the kindest boys I had ever met. They are now grown and married. Both now serve in the military and one works in youth ministries.

Keith, That is a wonderful story. I'm glad to have met you on this site and I personally want to thank you for your service to our men and women in uniform. Every time I see your avatar I'll remember this post.
My son is in the military but will be coming home in the near future. He has been deployed three times but God has protected him and we will be glad to have him back in the states soon. Very Happy
