Hello! I am so excited to have found this forum. I am so interested in learning more about homesteading. As a child I lived in Missouri from age 9-15 and we lived in the country. We had fruit trees and a garden and about 6 acres of land. I miss that!

I now live with my husband and 2 kids in Charlotte, NC. I am eager to learn all I can maybe do some small scale things in my back yard.

Hi MountainRose and welcome to the forum. There's a lot you can do with homesteading on a small amount of land. I'm glad you joined us and am looking forward to learning and growing together.

Hi and welcome!!

Glad you found us, we are all friendly, and have combined interests that cover most of what you can do with small areas.

One thing I always recommend when starting out is to grow what you like first, and then get adventerous with other things as you go.
I grew up with a few fruit trees in the back yard, but I am now wanting to put in a small orchard. I have posted some of my efforts on this board. There is a couple of discussions about asparagus also that are recent.

Have hubby join us in the do it yourself or hunting and fishing areas, if he has those interests.
