A True Story About Today's Young Teens and Chickens
I kept children in my home for six years. A young baby named Trinity came to me when she was three weeks old. I kept her until she started school (six years old). This little girl loved animals. She would go outside and pick up every bug she could find. She's thirteen and still loves animals and has geese, ducks, cats, dogs, turtle, rats, hamsters and I'm not sure what else.
As most of you know I had an incubator full of chicken eggs. They were supposed to start hatching on March 29th. I got burned on the 28th. Trinity had been keeping up with when my chicks were supposed to hatch. In fact she lent me her egg turner to use.
Trinity is my daughter Sandi and her husband, Richard's God-daughter. Trinity gets on the phone calling my daughter, Sandi. She finds out where we have the extra key hidden. Then she talks her folks into coming over here to feed our animals. After that she calls Sandi and ask her if it's all right to take the incubator to her house as the chicks are starting to hatch and she didn't want them to be here with no one to watch them.
She took the incubator to her house. We had seventeen out of the forty-one to hatch. She and her Dad took care of the chicks (except for the one her cat caught and had for dinner) for two weeks after I got home.
I tried to pay her and she smile and said "I don't want that money." When I asked her "Why?". She smiled again and said "Because it's yours." I am so proud of her. She's spoiled rotten in some ways but she loves animals and has a giving spirit.
BTW Trinity also fed our animals for us until we got home from the hospital.
I just thought that you all would enjoy a story of a teen who has a giving spirit and also one that loves all animals.

Blessings. and she is a go getter with logic. Plus a heart. The future looks good when one hears of kids like this. She loves you.

She is a sweet girl and I am very proud of her. I've never been around a young child that loves animals like she does.
When I have a doctor's appointment she calls Sandi to find out what the doctor said about me. You just don't come across 13 year olds like this very often.
I hope she will be a veternarian when she grows up. Her love for animals would make her a good one.
