Leather Crafting and Wood Turning

Post by Rohn on Sun Jan 01, 2012 3:07 am

Hello,
I do leather craft. I make holsters and belts. I have also made a few billfolds and change purses. Is anyone else into leather products? Here are a few pictures of my belts and holsters.

I am also a wood turner and enjoy woodworking in general.

Let me know what you think. I'd like some input. If there are any suggestions or critiques they are welcome. If anyone else here turns wood or works leather I'd like to see some pictures of your projects. Smile

My DH, Joe use to do some woodworking, but not much on the lathe. Do you sell what you make? I've been trying to get Joe on here more, but so far haven't had much luck. Maybe now that there's someone here that does woodworking he'll get on more.

I do sell the things that I make. I set up at a gun show here in OH where I live and sell my leather goods. I also sell my turnings at a shop in PA and to others that I come in contact who want to buy. My brother is a violin maker and I sell some things in his shop. Tell your DH to get on and post some pictures, I'd love to see them.

I told him about you joining and he said he would be getting on more. Bless his heart though, he has his hands full these days. Besides his work in the USAF, he does most of the work on our little homestead since I had my back surgery. I keep hoping he'll find the time to get back into working with wood because he really enjoys it. I also hope he'll work with our DS teaching him wood working.

Hey Rohn and Welcome. I’m Joe, Katrina’s DH. I really like your work. I dabble with wood but nothing like what you create. Nice holsters too, do you do custom work as well? If so let me know and I’ll send you a PM. Any ways Welcome and hope you enjoy the Forum.

Joe,
Glad you like my stuff. I do do custom leather orders. On holsters it all depends on whether I have access to the same gun or gun model or not. Also my holsters are almost all stitched with lace rather than thread since I am not great at hand sewing when it comes to thread and at this point I do not have a leather sewing machine. They cost big $$ so I am just at the wishing for one stage right now. I'll try to post some more of my work as time goes on.
