Saturday was a busy day

Post by Sonshine on Mon Sep 26, 2011 8:16 am

Our neighbor, Mike came down yesterday morning to help us with butchering. We got 8 chickens processed, which leaves us with 12 hens and one rooster. I sent one of the chickens home with Mike. He was going to cook it on his rotisere. (sp) We took another one to add to my stock pot. With some of the stock we made I decided to make some chicken noodle soup, so Joe, being the sweetie he is, made the noodles for me to add to my chicken and veggies. It was the most amazing soup I've ever had. Fresh sage and thyme added to carrots, celery, onion, chicken and the stock. It sure is great having a meal you know was completely homegrown and made.

but from idle pursuits a man has his fill of poverty
