Hello Poultry Lovers: I agreed to help Sonshine on the Poultry forum. I've raised chickens for several years. Hubby and I have raised ducks and turkeys in the past. This summer we purchased some geese and guineas to go along with the chickens, turkeys and ducks.

We are still learning how to best care for our birds. To us protecting them from predators is the hardest part of caring for the birds. In the fall and early spring it seems that raccoons and o'possums come out of the woodwork to attack and kill the birds.

While I understand this is the way the wild animals find their food I'm not too keen on our birds being dinner for them.

I'm looking forward to working with you all to learn more about poultry and help you all in any way that I can to care for your birds. Anything I don't know the answer to (believe me there's a lot I don't know) I'll do research to find the best information to share with you.

Let's get this Poultry Forum up and going so we can have healthy productive flocks.
