Hello from TX Empty Hello from TX

Post by Bernice Tue May 12, 2009 7:21 am

Hello all.
Thought I would introduce myself...

My name is Bernice and I live in TX. We have lived here on our new "farm" for 2 1/2 years now. We built the house over a 5-6 year span and finally moved in a little after Labor Day in 2006. Since moving in we have added some chickens to our flock and have added goats.

I started milking a LaMancha that I bought with kids on her and this was my first time to milk a goat. I am hooked. LOL. Now we have 2 nubians, 1 Sanaan, and still have the LaMancha. We get 2 1/2 gallons a milk a day and are starting to get some goat shares going so we can share our milk.

My chickens are still too young to lay right now. I have two that I brought from the old house and they lay every now and then. They are about 4 years old. I am hoping that some of these young chicks are hens. I am pretty sure 3 out of 5 aren't. I have 6 others that are younger so don't know what they are yet.

We have two dogs, one is a boarder collie cross and the other is an old chihuahua.

I look forward to meeting everyone.

Bernice
