The Ducks Moved Into Their New Home

Post by Mississippi Momma on Sat May 28, 2011 3:46 am

William finished the duck's new pen this morning. We moved them in after lunch. They were scared silly at first but they finally got thirsty and came out of the shed to drink. Of course, I was waiting with camera in hand.

They're five weeks old now. I knew they'd grown but didn't realize how much until we got them moved out of the brooder. We have a kiddie pool in the pen for them to play in. If they get the pen too wet we will have to move it out and let them out to play.

Now I'm ready to order some turkeys. Smile

Very Cool. I love ducks. We have an old sand box that is going into the duck pen to hold water. We have 2 about that same age the others are smaller but are growing fast.

When William moved the kiddie pool to the duck pen he said he pulled on it and it came apart. There were two stuck together. We've had the pool for several years. I don't even remember where we bought. I feel bad because we only paid for one.

They're enjoying the pool now.

Sonshine I like to share my pictures of animals. I also enjoy looking at other peoples pictures of their homesteads.

I take terrible pictures, but will try to get Joe to get some posted of our homestead. He's off all week next week, so hopefully we'll get some of our critters and gardens.
